The Community Home Education Hub

A Warm Welcome to Our Home Education Community

We know that home educating your child is one of the most rewarding journeys you can take – and sometimes one of the most challenging too. That’s why we’ve created The Community Home Education Hub: a supportive, nurturing space where your child can thrive academically and socially, whilst you maintain the flexibility and personalisation that makes home education so special.

Our KS3 programme isn’t about fitting children into boxes or rushing through a one-size-fits-all curriculum. It’s about meeting each child exactly where they are, celebrating their strengths, and gently supporting them through the trickier bits. It’s about creating a rhythm to the week that feels both structured and freeing, and building a little community where children can be themselves, make friends, and discover that learning can be genuinely joyful.

Why Families Love Our Hub

Small Groups, Big Hearts
With our small group sizes, every child is truly seen and valued. Your child won’t be just another face in the crowd – they’ll be known, supported, and encouraged by tutors who genuinely care about their progress and wellbeing.

Flexibility That Fits Your Family
Life doesn’t always follow a neat timetable, and neither should your child’s education. Whether you’d like your child to attend both our Monday and Wednesday sessions or just pop in once a week, we’re happy to work around what suits your family best.

Real Learning Through Real Projects
We believe children learn best when they’re excited about what they’re doing. That’s why our curriculum is built around hands-on, creative projects that bring maths and English to life. From designing miniature houses to launching chocolate bar startups, learning becomes an adventure rather than a chore.

Expert Tutors Who Understand Home Ed
Our experienced tutors, Wendy Meadows-Smith and Steph Atkins, aren’t just subject specialists – they understand the unique needs and rhythms of home-educated children. They know how to balance structure with freedom, challenge with support, and academic rigour with genuine fun.

What A Typical Session Looks Like

Our sessions run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM,
creating a lovely rhythm to the week without overwhelming busy family schedules.

9:30–10:15: Maths with Wendy (45 minutes)
We start the day with maths that’s fully differentiated to each child’s level and pace. No one’s left behind or held back – everyone works on KS3 topics that challenge them just the right amount. Wendy makes sure that whether your child is gaining confidence with basic concepts or racing ahead, they’re getting exactly what they need.

10:15–10:30: Morning Break
Time for a breather! Children can grab some fruit, chat with friends, or settle into a gentle board game. It’s social time with a calm, supportive atmosphere.

10:30–11:15: English with Steph (45 minutes)
English sessions blend creative writing, reading comprehension, and all those essential skills, but with plenty of fun woven in. Steph has a gift for making even the trickiest concepts accessible and engaging.

11:15–11:30: Second Break
Another chance to stretch legs, grab a drink, and reset before the morning’s grand finale.

11:30–12:30: Project Work (60 minutes)
This is where the magic happens! Children work on rotating maths and English projects that are child-led but tutor-supported. They have ownership of their learning whilst knowing help is always there when they need it.

Term Dates for 2025-26

Term 2: 5 January – 27 March
Half-term break: 16 February – 20 February

Investment in your child's learning

£50 per session (Mondays & Wednesdays, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
Our standard programme runs twice weekly over an 11-week term, though you’re welcome to choose just one session per week if that suits your family better. We offer flexible monthly payment plans to make budgeting easier.
When you think about it, that’s three hours of expert tuition in small groups, covering two core subjects plus creative project work, in a supportive community setting. We believe it’s genuinely great value for the quality and care your child receives.
