Parent & Student Feedback

LD – Year 13 Student

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your help over the last few years. I’m happy to say I was awarded ABB in Geography, Biology and Chemistry (as well as my A in Core Maths!) and got accepted by the University of York to study Environmental Geography. The Community Schools has helped and supported me with both my GCSE’s and A levels and I can’t thank you enough. I would never have reached where I am today if it wasn’t for you, Bill, Robyn and Andy, as well as everyone at the Easter help sessions. I was always happy to come to my sessions as I always knew I would be leaving knowing far more then when I arrived! Once again, thank you so much for all your support and help over the years!

L – Key Stage 2 Parent

I had to write to you tonight because L and C loved their lessons with Jo so much! They both came out on a high and couldn’t wait to tell their dad and I what they had learnt (they NEVER tell us what they do at school so we were very shocked!).

They both proudly showed us their work and told us the lessons went so quickly. C said ‘I loved it too much’!

Please let Jo know how happy they were and thank her for making their first lessons with her so positive and engaging.

They’re already looking forward to next week!

Excellent experience with exam booster classes. Claire tailored the sessions to specifically what my daughter felt that she lacked confidence on. The classes were targeted as we had requested them to be, and Claire’s patience and style of teaching, and taking time to confirm her understanding before moving on was key for us.

The Community Schools were able to help our eldest son overcome his difficulties with Mathematics. He had fallen behind in the curriculum and was at risk of 'missing the train' of Maths. The tutoring helped him catch up, get confidence and develop his Maths brain. Both our kids attend now.

Online provision and face to face tutoring both excellent. Provided structure through lockdown with regular weekly sessions and very useful revision booster courses.

The tutoring my son has received has been excellent. He had particular concepts that he had been taught at college but did not understand. Community schools tutoring meant that he then understood the concepts and felt much more confident with his work. These sessions have made a real difference to him.

The Community Schools helped me prepare for my GCSE’s by teaching me efficient revision techniques and how to break down exam questions. My tutor, Claire, was super cheerful and gave me helpful advice on how to stay calm and focused during my maths exams, which helped relieve my anxiety when sitting them in Year 11.Claire catered to each student’s way of learning, which for me was visually. She would help lay out my cue cards for revision with diagrams and drawings to improve my memory. In our sessions we would also go through old exam papers, which was useful as it gave me a better understanding of what to expect in my real exams, as well as how to work through the more difficult 6 mark questions at the end of the papers in a time-efficient way.I was never afraid to ask for help or tell her I didn’t understand something, instead she would try another approach so I fully understood a question. I was able to take home the notes and feedback that she thought would be beneficial to practise with. Overall, it was a very useful and pleasant experience, it made going through some (quite dull) maths questions more engaging! I would definitely recommend The Community Schools to any students worrying about their exams or how to revise.

Cannot speak highly enough of the tuition my son has received both face to face and online via The Community Schools for the past 5 months. The business is so well organised, with consistently excellent communication from Claire Meadows-Smith. My son has received both science and maths tuition and both tutors have been supportive, patient and encouraging. In addition his learning has been tailored to his specific needs - I know he would say he has learnt so much and benefited greatly. We will definitely be signing up again in September.

Community Schools is a wonderful teaching environment for children who need extra tuition, or to fine tune skills. I have found them to be professional, and always keep you informed and good value for money on your doorstop. I would definitely recommend!! Well worth 5*

Seemed to really help my son, whose incentive to get better grades increased and seemed to give him a greater desire for the subject.

My daughter has been receiving help since Claire started in Stowmarket. Although a typical teenager, she does actually appreciate the help that has been given, and she has become more confident in maths.Since school closures we changed to physics, and the tutor has been able to talk her through the set tasks and she is now feeling more confident in what she described as her weakest subject. So thank you, here's hoping that we continue through year 11 so that she gets the grades she wants for further studies.

What an amazing concept and a brilliant group for my son. He has doubled in confidence and loved every maths session he had. We will be a returning customer as Jasper is so happy and progressed so much. This will benefit any child in confidence and ability, hugely recommended.
